International Schools Association

Swostishree Gurukul IB World School came alive with joy and cultural pride as students and staff celebrated the vibrant festival of Indrajatra. The event was a remarkable showcase of the school’s commitment to preserving and promoting Nepal’s rich cultural heritage.

The celebration featured a series of traditional performances that captivated everyone present. Students enthusiastically participated in the age-old Lakhe dance, bringing the fearsome yet beloved deity to life with their spirited movements. The air was filled with the rhythm of traditional jatra music, while the energetic pulukisi dance brought an element of fun and excitement, symbolizing the mythical elephant’s presence in the festival.

One of the highlights of the day was the beautifully crafted rath (chariot), which added an authentic touch to the celebrations. Students, teachers, and staff came together to enjoy the joyous festivities, embracing the essence of community and tradition.

Principal Neha K.C. expressed her gratitude, saying, “It’s moments like these that foster unity and cultural pride within our school. Celebrating Indrajatra allows our students to experience and appreciate the rich heritage of Nepal.”

The event was a testament to the school’s ethos of blending academic learning with cultural understanding. The celebration not only provided students with an immersive cultural experience but also underscored the importance of preserving traditions in a modern, globalized world.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making the celebration a success. Swostishree Gurukul IB World School looks forward to more such events that bring the school community together in the spirit of learning, joy, and cultural pride.

Here’s to celebrating our heritage with enthusiasm, respect, and pride!
