En el marco del Día del Libro, nuestra etapa de Secundaria del Colegio Internacional Casa Azul vivió una jornada dedicada al rigor y al buen uso de la lengua con el concurso anual de Ortografía. Tras meses de preparación y entrenamiento diario en el aula, los cuatro finalistas de cada curso midieron sus conocimientos en una final muy reñida. Este evento pone en valor nuestro proyecto de centro, fomentando en los estudiantes el hábito de la revisión crítica y el respeto por las normas que rigen nuestro idioma.
El proyecto de Ortografía es uno de los proyectos diferenciadores de nuestro centro, diseñado para que el alumnado de las etapas de Primaria y Secundaria alcance un dominio excelente de la lengua escrita.
Este proyecto no se limita a la corrección puntual, sino que se integra de manera transversal para fomentar el respeto por la norma lingüística en todas las materias.
Los ejes fundamentales del proyecto se basan en:
- Trabajo meticuloso: Se enfoca en la atención al detalle y el cuidado de la escritura en cualquier soporte, ya sea analógico o digital.
- Metodología práctica: El aprendizaje se articula a través de tres acciones clave:
◦ Dictado: Como herramienta de entrenamiento auditivo y rítmico.
◦ Corrección: Fomentando la revisión crítica de los propios textos.
◦ Comprensión de la norma: Se busca que el alumno no solo memorice, sino que entienda el porqué de la regla para su aplicación funcional.
- Continuidad pedagógica: Al abarcar tanto Primaria como la ESO, garantiza que el alumnado llegue al Bachillerato con una base sólida, evitando que la ortografía sea un obstáculo en su rendimiento académico.
The best secondary school spelling bee contestants shine at the Casa Azul School competition!
As part of World Book Day, our Secondary School at the Casa Azul International School held a day dedicated to linguistic rigour and the proper use of language with our annual Spelling Bee. After months of preparation and daily practice in the classroom, the four finalists from each year group put their knowledge to the test in a closely contested final. This event highlights our school’s educational project, encouraging students to develop the habit of critical review and respect for the rules governing our language.
The Spelling Project is one of the distinguishing features of our school, designed to help Primary and Secondary students achieve an excellent command of written language.
This project is not limited to occasional correction, but is integrated across the curriculum to foster respect for linguistic norms in all subjects.
The fundamental pillars of the project are based on:
- Meticulous work: It focuses on attention to detail and care in writing in any medium, whether analogue or digital.
- Practical methodology: Learning is structured around three key actions:
◦ Dictation: As a tool for auditory and rhythmic training.
◦ Correction: Encouraging students to critically review their own work.
◦ Understanding the rules: The aim is for pupils not only to memorise the rules, but also to understand the reasoning behind them so they can apply them effectively.
- Pedagogical continuity: By covering both primary and lower secondary education, it ensures that pupils reach upper secondary education with a solid foundation, preventing spelling from becoming an obstacle to their academic performance.
