The MYP III learners of Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School embarked on an enriching and memorable educational journey across China, exploring its rich history, vibrant culture, technological advancements, and local traditions.
During the trip, our learners visited some of China’s most iconic landmarks, including the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Olympic Park. These experiences enabled the students of Swostishree Gurukul to connect their classroom learning with authentic historical and cultural contexts, deepening their understanding of China’s remarkable heritage.

The learners also immersed themselves in Chinese traditions through a visit to a traditional Tea House, where they learned about Chinese tea culture, sampled authentic tea varieties, and selected souvenirs to share with their families.

Travelling between cities on China’s world-renowned high-speed bullet train provided firsthand exposure to the country’s advanced transportation system. In Shanghai, the students explored the historic Shanghai Old Town, enjoyed a scenic Huangpu River Cruise, visited the Urban Planning Exhibition Center, and experienced the vibrant atmosphere of Nanjing Road.

The journey continued in Chengdu, where the learners explored the charming old town, gaining insights into local heritage, architecture, and everyday life. They also enjoyed an exciting visit to Disneyland, creating unforgettable memories while experiencing one of the world’s most celebrated entertainment destinations.

Throughout the journey, the students of Swostishree Gurukul demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and open-mindedness while engaging with diverse cultures and perspectives. The trip encouraged them to develop greater international-mindedness, independence, communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for the connections between history, culture, innovation, and daily life.

This educational journey served as a meaningful extension of classroom learning and provided our learners with countless opportunities to learn, explore, discover, and create lasting memories that will remain with them for years to come.
