Wordsmith workshop is a student centered framework equipped with strategies which will keep the creative writing ignition burning throughout the process.
The goal of this workshop is to empower the students to become a confident and skillful writer and by the end, each student will be an author with their own creation- a book.
At Swostishree Gurukul, Wordsmith workshop was introduced to the learners on 28th of August, 2023 and by 11th of March, 2024 all 153 students from PYP evolved into an author. In this workshop the students were encouraged to experiment with different ideas, writing styles, word play and to authentically express themselves through their writing.
To aid the learners, teachers introduced many mini-lessons, inspirations and sharing/feedback session which helped them to refine their work.
It was a long and lengthy process filled with roller-coaster of emotions but all the involved party remained dedicated and the finally met the goal hand in hand.
This workshop proved to be one the most successful projects which helped the budding writers with a platform along with giving them a sense of ownership and enhancing critical thinking and collaboration skills.
We celebrated the author’s achievement by holding authors’ conference and rewarding them with certificates of recognition.
