When we look towards 2023, it can be with hesitation but we at the International Schools Association have chosen to look forward with hope and with excitement, not least because of the successes and achievements of 2022.
I look forward with great anticipation to five things.
- Membership – This has grown very well over the last year and is expected to grow in the same way over 2023.
- Services to member schools have improved and member schools are expressing their satisfaction in a more active and supportive ISA. This is especially so in our Joint Project programme which has successfully connected schools throughout the network and will be more centrally managed in 2023. At a regional level, we have seen conferences and webinars make a measurable impression on those who have participated.
- Partnerships – Throughout 2023 we look forward to continuing collaboration with FEE, WFUNA, and the University of Stenden and with the International Baccalaureate, the Alliance for International Alliance, and others.
- Competition – In 2023, we look forward to participation in our Annual Short Film Contest, our new Short Essay Contest, in connection with ISA Foundation Day – all intended to bring together schools from our network.
- Events – Our Youth Leadership Encounter on Global issues attracted over 100 students from different parts of the network. In 2023the location will be Mexico City, hosted by Lakeside College and the topic being Well being. Mental health will also be the theme of both the Short Film and Short Essay Contests in 2023.
New initiatives
- Community Project In 2023– launching our first social responsibility project in Africa.
- E games contest
- Additional representation at UN – in 2023 we will also have representation in Geneva, as well as New York
