Today, that hope is urgently needed in Nepal.
Following the devastating flash floods triggered by a glacial event in the Langtang Lirung region, entire communities across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun, Nawalparasi, and Chitwan have been severely affected. Hundreds of lives have been lost, families have been displaced, schools have been damaged or destroyed, and thousands of children face an uncertain future without access to safe learning environments.
At the International Schools Association (ISA), we believe that education is one of the most powerful foundations for recovery. While humanitarian aid addresses immediate needs such as food, shelter, clean water, and medical assistance, rebuilding schools helps communities regain stability, restore normalcy for children, and begin looking toward the future once again.
Education Cannot Wait
Natural disasters affect far more than infrastructure.
For children, the loss of a school often means the loss of routine, safety, social connection, and opportunities to continue learning. Teachers lose the spaces where they serve their communities, and families lose an essential pillar of daily life.
As a global network connecting international schools across continents, ISA has always believed that our responsibility extends beyond academic collaboration. It includes standing together when one member of our global educational community is facing extraordinary challenges.
That is why ISA is launching the Nepal Emergency Relief Campaign, inviting member schools, educational leaders, families, and partners around the world to join this collective effort.
The ISA Nepal Emergency Relief Fund
To ensure that support reaches those who need it most, ISA has established the Nepal Emergency Relief Fund.
The initiative has two immediate priorities:
- Deliver emergency assistance to affected communities.
- Support the rebuilding of schools so students can safely return to learning as soon as possible.
