There are anniversaries that do not simply commemorate the past, but forcefully illuminate the future. As part of the celebrations for the 𝟳𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 of the #InternationalSchoolsAssociation (ISA), we have experienced one of those moments that will be forever etched into our institutional memory, reminding us of the true purpose of our global mission.
With immense pride and deep emotion, the prestigious 𝗜𝗦𝗔 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 have been presented—a recognition dedicated to extraordinary leaders who are transforming the world through #empathy, #cooperation, and #peace.
The award ceremony was presided over by Narin Stassis, Chair of the Board of Directors at the International Schools Association, who had the distinct honour of presenting the accolade to two global icons of our time:
🏅 Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, GCON (Director-General of the World Trade Organization) – A beacon of global leadership and resilience, recognised for her tireless humanistic work and her steadfast commitment to equitable global trade that always puts people first.
🏅 Tatsuya Yoshioka the founder of Peace Boat US Peace Boat– A visionary of citizen diplomacy, honoured for his exceptional career promoting peace, human rights, and sustainability across the globe.
Seeing the pedagogical heritage of hashtag#ISA converge on the same stage with the global impact of these laureates inspires us to continue cultivating classrooms where critical thinking, solidarity, and human values know no borders.
Our heartfelt thanks to Narin Stassis and the entire Board of the association for leading this historic encounter, and our warmest congratulations to the award recipients. Your example is the greatest lesson we can offer to future generations!
