Schools are given a grade by the Florida Department of Education in order to provide parents an easily understandable way to measure the performance of a school. Parents and the general public can use the school grade and its components to understand how well each school is serving its students. Avant Garde Academy earned an A school rating for 2023-24. But that is not all!
A penchant for continuous improvement has characterized AGA’s growth and development, throughout the school’s last five-year term. The school has forged partnerships with Leader In Me, Amazon Engineering, Microsoft Teals, Florida International University, Broward Community College, Memorial Healthcare, NBA Cares, and the Miami Dolphins. The partnership with Leader In Me was established to support the development of the “whole” child. Leader in Me is an evidence-based, comprehensive model that builds leadership and life skills in students. It also helps to create a high-trust school culture where students feel safe thereby building a foundation that fosters academic achievement. The school was recognized as a Leader In Me Lighthouse School in 2021. The school was also recognized by the College Board in 2023 for student outstanding performance and as a member of the AP School Honor Roll.
Staff and students are dedicated to excellence, are encouraged to make wise choices based on their goals, to serve others in the community, and to respect themselves and one another. Our commitment to continuous improvement has shaped our climate and has ultimately resulted in a graduation rate of 100% and a college acceptance rate of 100% for the last 2 years!
