Agora Sant Cugat International School receives the Eco-Schools Green Flag

International Schools Association

After years of dedication and hard work as members of Eco-Schools, we are delighted to announce that the assessment committee of the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) has awarded us the Green Flag, a recognition of our commitment to the environment. This achievement not only fills us with satisfaction but also encourages us to continue working tirelessly to instil in our students the importance of caring for the planet and sustainability.

The Green Flag is much more than just an award; it is a symbol of our love and care for the natural environment. This recognition, which will now fly over our Campus, represents the fundamental values we wish to instil in our students – respect for nature and awareness of the need to preserve our planet for future generations.

In the words of Jordi Ros, the Director of Agora Sant Cugat International School, “Beyond the award itself, I would like to highlight the extraordinary work done by our educational team to raise awareness and educate our students about the importance of sustainability. Their dedication and commitment are fundamental to inspire our students to become agents of change in the fight for a better world”.

By joining other schools in the Agora family that have already received this prestigious award, such as Agora Portals International School, Agora Barcelona International School, Agora Lledó International School, Agora Madrid International School and Agora Andorra International School, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and environmental education.

Why has Agora Sant Cugat International School been recognised with the Eco-Schools Green Flag?

Our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 is evident in all our actions. We have established fundamental pillars to promote sustainability in our school community:

We encourage the participation of our students through an Eco Committee made up of committed volunteers.

We implement measures to reduce waste both inside and outside the classroom, educating our families about the importance of recycling and responsible consumption.

We transform our schools into more nature-friendly spaces, promoting sustainability activities, renovating our school gardens and adopting eco-friendly practices in our daily lives.

This recognition encourages us to continue to think and promote activities that inspire our students to work towards a healthier and more environmentally friendly world. We recognise the importance of our role as educators in promoting positive change and are committed to continuing to lead the way towards a sustainable future.
