THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY AT COLEGIO NECALI

The way Colegio Necali approaches technology in its educational program is by teaching students the skills they need to succeed in a technology-driven world. These skills include skills like problem solving, finding and using evidence-based project collaboration, and critical thinking.

Online resources and a variety of advanced technology platforms support more student-centered learning in specific subject areas to enable more effective classroom instruction. A constantly changing world forces us to develop new strategies and innovative approaches to teaching courses.

Tik Tok is a useful tool in helping reach and engage students on a deeper and more meaningful level. The idea is to attract students to a platform that they can relate to and encourage them to understand concepts in group settings and help with peer teaching. For Literacy Day, our ninth grade students used Tik Tok to create some short videos about the importance of reading, the challenges of literacy, and how COVID-19 has disrupted learning for children around the world. They enjoyed this activity very much.

In Middle School, we implemented a 3D Logo contest to celebrate International Day of Peace. This was an interdisciplinary project between two subjects: values and robotics. Students explored how Gratitude, Respect, Empathy, Honesty and Solidarity can change the world to become a better place. They then choose one of the core values and created a 3D logo using the Tinkercad app. It was a great experience for our students. They enjoyed learning step–by-step from the creation of a sketch to the realization of a complete 3D design while maintaining the primary objective of the project – a complete educational program based on values.
