Somewhere between the infinite dialogue of nature, wonder and illumination lay the “Stories brought to Light” exhibit showcased at Ivy.

This exhibit was curated as a series of visually pleasing invitations that allowed children to freely immerse themselves in the beautiful phenomenon of light. Students manipulated materials, explored, reinvented, problem-solved, and created. Through words, drawings, visual compositions and constructions, our preschoolers drew on and expanded their schema around light and the various ways it is disassembled, reflected, refracted, and emitted.

We watched spellbound as our saplings formed and discarded hypotheses, explored theories, drew conclusions, and found explanations. The role of the child as a scientist could not have been more visible than it was today as our children played. At Ivy, learning is a celebration of the child, and the curious hands, inquiring minds and lit up smiles we see every day!
