Project in Audiovisual and Plastic Creation – Colegio Base International School

The Visual Arts/French Project is an interdisciplinary and collaborative proposal between the areas of artistic expression and French language at Colegio Base International School. The main objective is to offer students an engaging and motivating set of knowledge to help them develop themes such as:

● Advertising
● Urban art
● Sustainable development goals
● Critical thinking
● Project management

Students use French to analyze various documents and express their point of view, opinions, analysis, and reflections on them. The class dynamics involve carrying out individual and group projects that enable them to develop various competencies. The final product will consist in creating a mural within the school grounds and giving a presentation in French about the school and its projects, which will be used during the exchange program with France.

The methodology employed is project-based learning, providing students with the opportunity to acquire content related to artistic expression and competencies related to entrepreneurship and project design. Additionally, oral presentations and debates are used to facilitate expression in French and reflect on the evolution of artistic and cultural references.

Regarding specific competencies, the project aims to develop the ability to analyze artistic manifestations from different eras and cultures, as well as active participation in exploring graphic and plastic techniques and the creation of individual or collaborative productions. It also encourages the creation of an artistic product, such as the mural painting, and the exhibition of the final result.

The development of these competencies will enable students to cultivate their critical thinking skills, become more empathetic and proactive, and take advantage of the opportunities offered by contemporary society in an ethical and responsible manner. It will also help them feel part of a collective project and embrace uncertainty as an opportunity for more creative responses.}

As for the project’s content, various graphic and plastic techniques are explored, ranging from wet and dry techniques to the use of supports and mural painting. Graffiti is studied as an element of artistic expression, and different manifestations of contemporary art are analyzed through exhibitions of contemporary artists. Additionally, topics related to design and advertising, such as the creation process, elements and basic principles of visual language, and photography and audiovisual language, are addressed.

In summary, the Visual Arts/French Project aims to engage students in different artistic disciplines, enhancing oral expression in French and developing expressive nuances in the analysis of the resources used.
