Youth Leadership Encounter Miami 2025 – An unforgettable experience that transcends borders

International Schools Association

The Youth Leadership Encounter (YLE) held in Miami has come to an end, marking an extraordinary week of learning, growth, and meaningful connections among students and educators from around the world.

More than 150 participants from three continents came together to share projects, ideas, and values that reflect the true spirit of international education — learning from the world and for the world. Over nine enriching days, students and teachers immersed themselves in a variety of academic, environmental, and cultural experiences designed to nurture leadership, creativity, and global awareness.

The program included conferences with experts at Florida International University, visits to scientific and marine research centers, and interactive workshops that encouraged participants to reflect, collaborate, and take action on issues that affect our planet. Each experience reinforced the idea that leadership is not only about knowledge, but also about empathy, teamwork, and responsibility toward others.

The Youth Leadership Encounter also served as a vibrant platform for intercultural exchange — friendships were formed, perspectives broadened, and young people discovered how much they can achieve when they come together with a shared purpose.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Avant Garde Academy International, and especially to Frank J. B. and Frances Bolaños Bolaños, for their impeccable organization and dedication, which ensured that every moment of this event became a lasting memory.

As the YLE Miami concludes, one message remains clear and inspiring:

International education is the path to forming leaders who are not only prepared for the future but deeply committed, empathetic, and conscious of the world they share.
