The third Inter-School Skating Competition organized by Swostishree Gurukul IB World School on the occasion of Children’s Day successfully concluded on Saturday. The event aimed to foster students’ interest in sports and enhance their skills. Around 200 student athletes from more than 20 schools participated, representing various schools and institutions.
The principal of the school, Neha K.C., delivered the welcome speech, and the event was inaugurated by the Managing Director, Mina Maharjan Chitrakar.
In the under-6 girls’ category, Amgya Shrestha from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya secured first place, followed by Swara Khanna from Gyan Sanskar School in second place and RV Prajapati from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya in third.
In the under-6 boys’ category, Samrajya Jung Kunwar from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya, Nirmal Shrestha from Alkapuri, and Adwait M. Kharel from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya secured first, second, and third places respectively.
In the 6-8 years girls’ category, Kashwi Bhattarai, Aansha Thapa Magar, and Sarin Bhusal from Gyan Sanskar International School took first, second, and third place respectively. Similarly, in the 6-8 years boys’ category, Nibhan Rana and Kenzo Rai from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya and Aarohan Shrestha from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School secured the top three positions.
In the 8-10 years girls’ category, Ashia Tamang from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya, Giana Aryal from Gyan Sanskar International School, and Juni Budha took the top three spots.
In the 8-10 years boys’ category, Samrat Bikram Chand, Nirbijya Ratna Bajracharya, and Saman Pandey from Gyan Sanskar International School took first, second, and third place respectively.
In the 10-12 years girls’ category, Sanvi Shrestha from Gyan Sanskar International School, Sneh Pandey, and Namisa Shrestha from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School secured the top three positions.
For the boys, Nabdeep Lama from Wilson Academy, Diperson Thapa from Bright Future, and Abhishek Lama from Wilson Academy secured first, second, and third places respectively.
In the 12-14 years girls’ category, Ishani Shrestha from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School, Subani Maharjan from Alkapuri School, and Anupriya Tandukar from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School took the top three spots.
For the boys, Arath Bohora from Olive Skating Club, Sidhant Kandoi from K.M.C. School, and Shrivasta Shrestha from Himalaya White House secured the top three positions.
In the 14-16 years girls’ category, Sunicha Bhaju and Riva Maharjan from Swostishree Gurukul secured first and second places respectively.
In the marathon event, under-10 girls’ category, Ashia Tamang from Shri Shiva Nursing Shikshalaya and Kashwi Bhattarai from Gyan Sanskar International School secured first and second places.
In the under-14 girls’ category, Subani Maharjan from Alkapuri School, Namisa Shrestha, and Ishani Shrestha from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School secured first, second, and third places respectively.
In the under-10 boys’ marathon, Shishir Gautam from Swostishree Gurukul IB World School, Aarohan Shrestha from Gyan Sanskar International School, and Rahish Khadgi took the top three positions.
For the under-14 boys, Arath Bohora from Olive Skating Club, Shrivasta Shrestha from Himalaya White House, and Happy Shrestha from Wilson Academy secured first, second, and third places respectively.
At the closing ceremony, Ram Krishna Chitrakar, founder of Swostishree Gurukul IB World School and Provincial Assembly Member for Lalitpur Province No. 2, presided as the chairperson. The chief guest was Dikesha Pradhan, General Secretary of the Nepal Rollerball Association. Special guests included Professor Pashupati Adhikari, Head of the Central Sports Science Department of Tribhuvan University. Managing Director Mina Maharjan Chitrakar, Principal Neha K.C., Resource Manager Tasi Maharjan, and Extracurricular Coordinator Rakesh Kumar Rai awarded the winners with prizes and certificates. Additionally, the guests were honored with tokens of appreciation presented by Managing Director Mina Maharjan.
