Hay encuentros que no se cierran, sino que quedan en pausa, esperando el momento de continuar. Así ha sido la reciente visita del alumnado de IALE International School, en Valencia, al Colegio Internacional Casa Azul, en Tenerife (Islas Canarias). Un reencuentro que da continuidad a la relación iniciada el pasado curso en torno a los foros de la infancia.
Un año después, el alumno que hoy cursa 1º de ESO ha devuelto la visita que en su momento recibió, cerrando un círculo que, lejos de concluir, se consolida como una experiencia compartida que trasciende el tiempo. Este intercambio no es solo un desplazamiento entre centros, sino un diálogo entre contextos y formas de entender la educación desde la participación y la escucha activa del alumnado.
Durante la jornada, el grupo tuvo la oportunidad de recorrer algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos del municipio de La Orotava, espacios que hablan de historia, identidad canaria y cultura. A través de ellos, el alumnado visitante pudo acercarse a la esencia del territorio, comprendiendo que el aprendizaje también se construye fuera del aula, en contacto directo con el patrimonio y la realidad que lo rodea.
Más allá del itinerario, el verdadero valor del encuentro residió en la convivencia. Compartir tiempo, experiencias y conversaciones permitió reactivar vínculos que, pese al paso de los meses, se han mantenido intactos. Porque cuando las relaciones se construyen desde la autenticidad, el respeto y la experiencia compartida, no se diluyen: evolucionan.
Este reencuentro reafirma la importancia de generar sinergias entre centros educativos que apuestan por una educación conectada, participativa y con sentido. Una educación que entiende que crecer también implica abrirse al otro, reconocer lo común y celebrar a las nuevas generaciones, otorgándoles una voz propia.

There are encounters that do not come to an end, but are merely put on hold, waiting for the right moment to continue. This was the case with the recent visit by pupils from IALE International School in Valencia to Colegio Internacional Casa Azul in Tenerife (Canary Islands). A reunion that builds on the relationship established last academic year through the children’s forums.
A year on, the pupils now in Year 7 have returned the visit they received at the time, closing a circle which, far from ending, is cemented as a shared experience that transcends time. This exchange is not merely a trip between schools, but a dialogue between contexts and ways of understanding education through pupil participation and active listening.
During the day, the group had the opportunity to visit some of the most iconic sites in the municipality of La Orotava, places that speak of history, Canarian identity and culture. Through these, the visiting pupils were able to get a feel for the essence of the region, realising that learning is also built outside the classroom, through direct contact with the heritage and reality that surrounds them.
Beyond the itinerary itself, the true value of the gathering lay in the sense of community. Sharing time, experiences and conversations allowed us to rekindle bonds that, despite the passing of months, have remained intact. Because when relationships are built on authenticity, respect and shared experiences, they do not fade: they evolve.
This reunion reaffirms the importance of creating synergies between schools committed to an education that is connected, participatory and meaningful. An education that understands that growing up also means opening up to others, recognising what we have in common and celebrating the younger generations, giving them a voice of their own.
