TK Islam Sabilillah Malang 1 joyfully celebrated Market Day, a much-anticipated event designed to promote healthy living, creativity, and cooperation among young learners. This year’s theme focused on “Healthy and Nutritious Food for a Happy Life”, emphasizing the importance of developing good eating habits from an early age.

The day began with an engaging plating class — a collaborative activity where children, together with their parents and teachers, learned how to arrange food beautifully and appealingly. Guided by a special international volunteer from France, students were introduced to simple plating techniques inspired by European culinary styles. The French volunteer’s presence added an element of global learning and cultural exchange, inspiring children to appreciate diversity while having fun.

Following the class, the schoolyard turned into a colourful and lively market. Booths decorated by each class offered a variety of healthy dishes and drinks such as fresh fruit salads, vegetable wraps, yogurt parfaits, smoothies, and herbal-infused water. Children enthusiastically took turns as little sellers, cashiers, and promoters, experiencing firsthand the joy of entrepreneurship and teamwork.

The Market Day event was not only about selling and buying but also about learning essential life values. Through this activity, children learned:

  • Cooperation, by working together with their peers and teachers to prepare and sell their products.
  • Independence, by taking responsibility for their own tasks and making decisions during the event.
  • Creativity, through designing and plating their healthy meals in attractive ways.
  • Awareness of healthy food, by recognizing which ingredients contribute to a nutritious diet.
  • Confidence, by interacting with visitors, explaining their products, and handling small transactions.

Head of School, Mrs.Kurnia Islamiyah, S.Pd., M.Pd. expressed her appreciation for the success of the event: “Market Day is not just a school program; it is a joyful learning experience that connects families, teachers, and even international friends. We hope this activity inspires our children to love healthy food and to grow with confidence and creativity.”

The event concluded with laughter, music, and smiles as students proudly served their nutritious creations to parents and guests. The collaboration between children, parents, teachers, and the French volunteer highlighted the spirit of unity and global friendship that TK Islam Sabilillah Malang 1 values deeply.

By the end of the day, the Market Day had achieved its goals nurturing independence, cooperation, creativity, and awareness of healthy living in a fun, hands-on environment. The event left everyone inspired and full of hope for a healthier, happier generation of young learners.
