El pasado jueves 26 de abril el Colegio Internacional Casa Azul viajó hasta Valencia para celebrar el II Foro de la Infancia de la mano del IALE International School, una nueva edición en la que el alumnado tuvo la oportunidad de debatir y reflexionar conjuntamente sobre aspectos de gran relevancia relacionados con la cultura, la sociedad y el entorno en el que viven. Este tipo de encuentros suponen un espacio privilegiado de participación real para el alumnado, donde pueden expresar sus ideas, escuchar otras miradas y construir propuestas compartidas.
Este segundo foro da continuidad al camino iniciado el curso anterior y consolida un proyecto común entre ambos centros que nace de la escucha activa de la infancia y de la convicción de que su voz debe formar parte de la construcción del presente y del futuro. A lo largo del proceso, el alumnado no solo ha participado en las actividades propuestas, sino que ha sido protagonista en la generación de vínculos, iniciativas y líneas de reflexión compartidas.
La experiencia ha vuelto a poner en valor la importancia de crear espacios de encuentro entre estudiantes de distintos contextos, favoreciendo el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico, la conciencia social y el compromiso con su entorno. Al mismo tiempo, ha reforzado los lazos de convivencia entre ambos colegios y ha consolidado una red de aprendizaje compartido que trasciende el aula y continúa creciendo con cada nuevo encuentro.
En este nuevo encuentro también tuvo lugar un espacio dedicado a la dimensión creativa del proyecto, que culminó con la actuación del alumnado, quienes interpretaron una canción compuesta por estudiantes de ESO del Colegio Internacional Casa Azul sobre la soledad de las personas mayores, una realidad social y emocional de gran actualidad que merece ser visibilizada. A través de este homenaje, nuestro alumnado contribuyó a sensibilizar sobre una problemática que con frecuencia pasa desapercibida, demostrando cómo la infancia también puede convertirse en motor de reflexión y compromiso social.
Experiencias como esta refuerzan el valor del Foro de la Infancia como un espacio donde escuchar, compartir y construir juntos. Ambos centros continúan ya con la mirada puesta en la próxima edición, que se celebrará en Tenerife, con la misma ilusión de seguir dando voz al alumnado y fortaleciendo este proyecto común que crece con cada encuentro.
II Children’s Forum – Casa Azul & IALE School: Students’ Voices Continue to Build Bridges
On Thursday 26 April, the Casa Azul International School travelled to Valencia to take part in the 2nd Children’s Forum, organised by the IALE International School. This latest edition gave pupils the opportunity to discuss and reflect together on key issues relating to culture, society and the environment in which they live. These kinds of gatherings provide a unique space for genuine student participation, where they can express their ideas, listen to other perspectives and develop shared proposals.
This second forum continues the journey begun last academic year and consolidates a joint project between the two schools, born out of actively listening to children and the conviction that their voices must be part of shaping the present and the future. Throughout the process, the pupils have not only taken part in the proposed activities but have also played a leading role in forging connections, launching initiatives and developing shared lines of thought.
The experience has once again highlighted the importance of creating spaces for students from different backgrounds to come together, fostering the development of critical thinking, social awareness and a commitment to their environment. At the same time, it has strengthened the bonds of coexistence between the two schools and consolidated a network of shared learning that extends beyond the classroom and continues to grow with each new meeting.
This latest event also included a segment dedicated to the creative aspect of the project, which culminated in a performance by the pupils, who sang a song composed by secondary school students from the Casa Azul International School about loneliness among the elderly – a highly topical social and emotional issue that deserves to be brought to the fore. Through this tribute, our pupils helped to raise awareness of an issue that often goes unnoticed, demonstrating how children can also become a driving force for reflection and social commitment.
Experiences such as this reinforce the value of the Children’s Forum as a space for listening, sharing and building together. Both schools are now looking ahead to the next edition, to be held in Tenerife, with the same enthusiasm for continuing to give a voice to the pupils and strengthening this joint project, which grows with every meeting.
