Swostishree IB School celebrated creativity and cultural expression through its annual art event, “Brushes and Beyond,” organized by PYP 2 under the theme “Brushstrokes of Culture.” Aligned with the IB transdisciplinary theme How We Express Ourselves, the event highlighted the rich cultural diversity of our school community and the powerful role of art in expressing identity, heritage, and emotions.
Students explored global artistic traditions through hands-on activities that nurtured creativity, cultural awareness, and IB Learner Profile attributes. A special highlight was the enthusiastic participation of parents, who collaborated with their children to create meaningful artworks inspired by their cultural roots.
The event was further enriched by the presence of renowned Nepali artists Kiran Manandhar and Sangee Shrestha, who inspired students and families by sharing insights into how art shapes identity and connects communities.
“Brushes and Beyond” was a vibrant celebration of diversity, creativity, and togetherness—reminding us that every brushstroke tells a story and that art brings us closer as a community.
