Agora Sant Cugat International School Host the XII Globeducate International Music Festival

There really is no better way to celebrate the talent of our students than by linking music with social commitment and global vision, the foundation of our education project and the values of Globeducate.

Agora Sant Cugat International School became the epicentre of an exceptional cultural event, the XII Globeducate International Music Festival that was held in Sant Cugat del Vallès from Tuesday 30th January to Friday 2nd February 2024.

The four-day event brought together more than 250 students from twenty-three Globeducate schools from eight different countries and two continents who stayed with host families from ASCIS and created the largest school orchestra and choir in Europe. The central event was the Solidarity HEAL THE WORLD Concert on Friday 2nd February in the Sant Cugat Theatre-Auditorium. Students, accompanied by their music teachers, created a large symphonic orchestra and choir with a repertoire inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDOs) with the music of Michael Jackson, Diego Torres, REM, Macaco, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins and Bon Jovi. The Concert had a solidarity and educational objective to raise money to build a school in the Turkana region of Kenya with the EMALAIKAT FOUNDATION TAMAISAN PROJECT and 12,750€ was raised.

The Solidarity Concert was a celebration of music and culture in Sant Cugat with the presence of Josep Mª Vallès, the Mayor of Sant Cugat and other representatives from the Town Hall, Globeducate CEOs and School Directors as well as staff, families and friends from the Agora Sant Cugat International School community.

The whole experience was truly memorable and we are certain that all those involved will remember it for the rest of their lives.
