World Wildlife Day

United Nations World Wildlife Day is celebrated every year on 3 March, following the declaration of the United Nations.
The day highlights the importance of protecting wild animals and plants, raising awareness about biodiversity, and encouraging global action to preserve nature for future generations.

General goals

  • Raise awareness about the protection of wildlife and endangered species.
  • Encourage creativity and artistic expression inspired by nature.
  • Promote responsibility towards biodiversity and environmental sustainability.
  • Connect students with global environmental values through art.

Activity

International Drawing & Painting Concourse

Theme: Protecting Our Wildlife – Our Shared Responsibility

Students are invited to create original drawings or paintings inspired by:

  • Endangered animals
  • Forests, oceans, and ecosystems
  • Human responsibility in wildlife protection
  • Harmony between people and nature

How to Participate

  • Open to students of all age groups.
  • Artwork must be original and created individually.
  • Technique: drawing, painting (any materials allowed).
  • Submit a clear scanned copy or high-quality photo of the artwork.
  • Include:
    • Student’s full name
    • Age and grade
    • School name
    • Country

Rules & Recommendations

One artwork per student.
Format: JPG or PDF.
A short description (2–3 sentences) explaining the idea behind the artwork is encouraged.
Selected artworks may be shared during an online exhibition organised by Swostishree Gurukul IB School.

Final Event

  • An online exhibition will be organised around 3 March 2026 to celebrate participants’ creativity and commitment to wildlife protection.
  • Selected artworks will be presented, and participants will receive certificates of appreciation.
  • In addition, three outstanding contributions will be recognised with special souvenirs from Nepal, presented together with the certificates.
