As part of our commitment to making our schools increasingly international, we have launched projects such as welcoming a group of students from Auckland, New Zealand, who are spending time at our International School Alameda and will also have the opportunity to visit our International School Arcángel.
At the welcome ceremony, we had the honor of receiving New Zealand’s Deputy Ambassador to Spain, Blake van Velden, which highlighted this meaningful cultural exchange and the chance to share experiences with our community, families, and students. The event was filled with music, words, smiles, and cultural symbols such as New Zealand’s traditional Haka. Our Alameda students warmly welcomed the New Zealand students, introduced them to the school, and guided them through the facilities where they will spend time during the program.
Over the coming days, they will enjoy experiences and learning together, with English as the common language, while embracing the values of the IB philosophy: open-mindedness, courage, and cooperation.
This experience is just one of many that we will continue to offer our students within an international context. Being international is not only about speaking different languages, but also about sharing life and cultural experiences with people from other countries.
