20 years on… ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

“Sharing knowledge, memories and experiences to last a lifetime”

Celebrations will last the whole year.

In 2000, Mustafa Karadeniz and John Lees teamed up to begin a small project in a historical villa, in a leafy suburb of Istanbul. They had no idea how the project would shape up! Their idea was to combine their skill sets – Mustafa was a children’s doctor, John a teacher. In the property, the ground floor became a Billingual Pre School and the upper floors were used to provide children’s medical services, including even a children’s dentist. The Pre School mushroomed quickly, requiring them to find more space to open not only a Pre School but a Primary School. This became a reality in the neighborhood of Çamlıca, where the project established also a Middle and High School. The school slogan, “Sharing knowledge, memories and experiences to last a lifetime”, was carefully crafted as the founding vision of the school and has proven to be the right slogan for our learning community.

The school with its dedicated Team has produced a bright bunch of students who regularly appear at school, demonstrating their grained knowledge, their non-erasable memories and the experiences that together have shaped their lives and give them a course for their futures.

Celebrations will last the whole year. We had a Special staff event at the beginning of January … we are now looking forward to a school picnic on May 22 to celebrate the UN Cultural Diversity Day, a special 20 year Graduation Event on June 17, a Teachers‘ Day Dinner on November 24 and to complete the year our traditional Charity Concert, on behalf of the Red Cross /Red Crescent.
