Andrew McEwen has a DipEd in Postgraduate Studies in Educational Administration and an MA in Organisation, Planning and Management in Education. He has a very strong international background for example, after teaching in two primary schools in England, Andrew became Head of the Colegio Colombo Britanico Primary School in Cali, Colombia and he also was Executive Director of FINDEC (Fundación Integral Para El Desarollo Educativo y Cultural). From 1995 to 1999 he was Headmaster of SEK International School Panama, Panama City, and in 1999 he became Head of Boca Raton Preparatory School, in Florida.
From 2001 until the present he has been a Director with IES (International Education Systems Limited), responsible for the development of schools in new markets, principally in Anglophone/anglophile countries. From 2013 he assumed the Chairmanship of IES. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Board of the International Schools Association (ISA), where he is currently its Secretary General,; he is a member of BELMAS (British Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society); a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and a fluent Spanish speaker.
